So what happens when you’re expecting a baby? At our practice, we believe that pregnancy is one of the most rewarding experiences an expectant mother and father can have.
Prenatal Visits
It’s extremely important to keep up with your personal health and the health of your baby by scheduling regular prenatal visits to our office. Mom’s should get prenatal care because Doctors can spot health problems early when they see mothers regularly. Early treatment can cure many problems and prevent others.
For Expecting Moms
If you’ve been thinking about getting pregnant, but haven’t yet then here are a few tips to ease into a healthy pregnancy:
- Take 400-800 mg of Folic Acid at least 3 months before getting pregnant
- Stop smoking and/or drinking alcohol
- Make sure you’ve talked to your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions
For Mom’s who are already expecting, here’s a few more tips on what to expect during pregnancy:
- Take a multivitamin every day
- Gain a healthy amount of weight– your doctor will give you an idea of what is considered healthy for you
- Get a lot of rest to avoid stress
- Ask your doctor about child education classes for you and/or your partner or spouse
